Seamlessly transitioning from base to tabletop via an
ingenious cantilever effect, all the while testing the structural limits
of wood and steel to achieve an amalgam of art and object.
What began as a personal challenge to design and execute a cantilevered coffee table that defies gravity and traditional furniture making methods, has resulted in this experimental piece that takes advantage of the ultimate characteristics of wood and steel.
Done without a template or precedent of any kind, every minuscule detail, many of which have been cloaked during the assembly, was meticulously prepared to achieve this masterstroke of visual balance and functionality.
